The Research Centre Řež s.r.o. was established on 9 October 2002 as a 100% subsidiary of ÚJV Řež, a. s. Currently, we represent an important research institution not only in the Czech Republic, but also within Europe and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries.
After its establishment in 2002, the main objective of the new research company, and subsequently its mission, became research, development and innovation in the energy sector, with a relatively broad scope, especially in the nuclear field. In order to be able to carry out research activities and to achieve excellent results also on an international scale, it was necessary to build a modern research base and to create adequate working teams with the necessary know-how. Today, we have not only a number of renowned experts, but also a unique experimental infrastructure including the LVR-15 and LR-0 research reactors, process loops, hot cells and a full range of state-of-the-art laboratories.

The Research Centre Řež is involved, along with its infrastructures, in a variety of national and international research projects, where it has been a sought-after partner for many years. Examples include projects such as TA ČR THÉTA and NCK, security research (Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic), projects within the OP PIK (Ministry of Industry and Trade) framework, and others. On the international level, it primarily includes a series of projects from the EURATOM pillar within the Research and Innovation programs.
