Within the OECD/NEA, the Czech Nuclear Regulatory Authority (CVŘ) is represented in the Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations (CSNI), Nuclear Science Committee (NSC), Nuclear Development Committee (NDC), and actively participates in the activities of the working groups Analysis and Management of Accidents (WGAMA) and Fuel Safety (WGFS).
A significant output with the participation of CVŘ is the report issued by OECD/NEA: State-of-the-art Report on Nuclear Fuel Behaviour Under Reactivity-initiated Accident Conditions (RIA SOAR). This report summarizes the latest findings on the behavior of nuclear fuel under reactivity-initiated accident (RIA) conditions for light-water reactors and conventional (currently used) fuels. It provides an overview of tests and experiments conducted to study RIA and compiles the results of all experimental programs and simulations. The report also includes a summary of acceptability criteria applied by regulatory authorities in all 12 member countries of OECD/NEA and recommendations for further research in this area. The report significantly contributes to enhancing the safety levels of nuclear power plant operations.
The activities of CVŘ experts in the working group focused on collaboration in the evaluation and refinement of nuclear data (Working Party on International Nuclear Data Evaluation Cooperation) and the related project Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion Nuclear Data Library (JEFF) are also highly significant.
