CVŘ testing sensors for ITER tokamak

A radiation probe for testing a LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) sensors for fusion reactor ITER has been designed and manufactured in the CVŘ under the contract for the Fusion for Energy. An important part of this contract was also to design and build a diagnostic system that continuously reads the electrical characteristics of the test sensors. The radiation probe was successfully mounted operated within a LVR-15 reactor, and it will be removed at the end of the campaign from the reactor, dismantled and the irradiated sensors samples will be subjected to the post-radiation evaluation.

Based on the comprehensive testing, the contracting authority selects one of the possible LTCC concepts, which will then be manufactured and fitted to the ITER tokamak.
