First videoconference lecture of CENERGI project was dedicated in CV Řež to nuclear fusion

Mr. Slavomír Entler’s lecture on “Introduction to nuclear fusion energy” was held in the training room of CV Řež´s new SUSEN building on Monday 2 March 2015. The fact, which makes this lecture extraordinary is, that the listeners were attending the lecture at the same time in Řež, and in the same way videoconferencing device equipped auditoriums at CTU in Prague, BUT in Brno or VŠB-TU of Ostrava respectively. In total, the lecture was attended by 65 people. In the case the lecture was held in Řež without the videoconference, only 20 listeners would participate.

The videoconferencing device was acquired under the Project CENERGI (OP EfC) – “Central European Energy Institute” (reg. # CZ1.07 / 2.2.00 / 28.0256), which is a joint project of Czech Technical University in Prague, Brno University of Technology, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava and the Research Centre Řež. Based on this project, the powerful video conferencing device equipped with an interactive projector, ceramic presentation whiteboard and two LCD monitors, which allows to attend on-line lectures held in the auditorium of any of the participating universities or CVŘ was installed.

The next lectures by energy experts from the Czech Technical University in Prague, CV Řež, Brno University of Technology and VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava will be held every Monday’s early evening during the summer semester of the academic year 2014/2015. The lectures, thanks to the videoconferencing transmission, will be available for all interested in their “home” auditoriums.
