Manufactory and Construction

Machine Shops in Centrum výzkumu Řež, providing services in the field of mechanical engineering and metalwork production, participates in the development and manufacture of components and complete systems for research – especially for the LVR-15 reactor (such as water loops, lead loops, head DORA, helium compressor). The workshops are also involved in the development of semi-hot chambers and their technological equipment (manipulators for handling irradiated samples, material, and others …), which will work with ionizing radiation.

In machine shops machining work is done (turning, milling, tooling), pressing, and locksmith work including finishes. The mechanical workshops are able to weld both common structural materials such as stainless steel, or aluminium profiles and sheets.

Orders are carried out not only based on technical and customer specifications, but also on the basis of the technical documentation prepared by a group of independent designers or in collaboration with other professional design divisions.

The machine shops operating in the field of mechanical engineering and metalwork production are able to provide even the most demanding design activities, such as the design and development of water loop type SCWL, HTHL and S-CO2 and others.
