Uncertainties Quantification

Uncertainties Quantification of input parameters of physical models contained in thermal-hydraulic calculating codes for analyses of nuclear safety.

The aim of the project is to propose, verify and validate methods for uncertainties quantification of input parameters of physical models contained in thermal-hydraulic calculating codes for nuclear safety analyses (RELAP5/MOD3.3, TRACE V5.0). From the quantity of physical models comprised in the systemic calculating codes such type task for physical model is chosen that takes part in the prediction of the process of flooding of active zone during an accident with loss of coolant of the primary circuit of the nuclear plant with pressurized water reactor.

The main project output will be the uncertainties quantification methodology of  input parameters of physical models comprised in the systemic calculating codes based on the application of the CIRCE calculating program which enables setting of the uncertainty zone and probability separation. As a parallel, application possibilities of a method based on quick Fourier transformation which enables setting of the uncertainty zone will be verified.
